To cut blinds start by marking a straight line on the head rail where you want to cut it using a pencil. Transfer the measurement of your window opening onto one of the vertical blinds.
Once you ve cut the head rail secure the ends of the blind slats with a rubber band and cover the ends with masking tape so they don t splinter or chip. Wrap the slats with masking tape to prevent chipping. Small cuts will result in a jagged bottom edge. Cut in one motion from start to finish with one cut.
Lay them on the saw and line up the blade where you need to cut. Using a clamp or rubber bands secure the slats together into position. Use your measuring tape and measure the vertical height distance of the window opening from the where the rod will be to an inch or so above floor level.
